Coffee tables come in wood, glass, metal and other materials. The surface of the coffee table can be damaged with scratches, stains, cracks and other damage. Turn the lift top coffee table upside down on a soft surface to protect it from scratches. Locate the hardware mounting coffee table. Usually at the top of the legs or the frame directly under the tabletop. Find the screws or bolts that hold the tabletop in the legs or frame.
Unscrew the screws or use a wrench to remove the nuts and bolts. Use pliers to close butterfly nuts. Remove all hardware holding the table. Putting the hardware into a bowl or other container. If the table has individual legs, legs one by one and place them on a soft surface. If the lift top coffee table is attached to a frame, lift the structure of the table once you have removed all hardware.
